I have a new book coming out this winter that traces the evolution of the left in America from Bernie Sanders’ first presidential campaign through passage of the IRA and the midterms of 2022. Our politics has changed radically in that short time — in some ways for the better, in some ways decidedly not. The book is called “The Squad: AOC and The Hope of a Political Revolution.” I’m biased, but I think you’ll enjoy it, no matter what you think of the Squad and no matter what your political affiliation.
The publisher is giving away free stickers and signed book plates for people who pre-order (while supplies last, and I have no idea how long that is) as well as a chance to win a free signed copy. More importantly to me, pre-orders are hugely influential for how well a book does out of the gate, how much publicity it gets, that sort of thing. So if you can, please order yourself a copy, and frankly, if you can swing it, you’ll have my undying gratitude if you order several. It’ll be out in early December, a perfect gift for that person who has everything!
To get the sticker and other goodies, pre-order it here and upload the receipt to the publisher through this page. If you want to pre-order from an indie bookseller, that’s here.
On today’s Counter Points, we talked about the horrifying hurricane hitting Florida, the response in Washington, which is to impeach Joe Biden, Florida shooting fallout; a wild climate protest outside of Burning Man that ended with a tribal police officer barreling his truck through a human barricade (no serious injuries, thankfully); the CIA declassified new information on the 1973 coup in Chile; Biden claims he talked Strom Thurmond into voting for the Civil Rights Act (he didn’t; that’s impossible); Emily on abortion politics; and a huge win for Biden against Big Pharma.
I wrote another book. And I'm giving away stickers.
Where is the link to the complete Counterpoints? I’m only finding links to clips. Thanks.
