Brandy Brooks' courage, authenticity and accountability in the story on Restorative Justice is nothing short of extraordinary in our current world of children masquerading as politicians. Though that undermines the ability of children to actually be courageous and authentic. I really appreciated the reporting because I have delved into learning more about restorative process as the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association moves toward it. I was struck by how powerful it is for someone with power to take accountability for using that power in a way that doesn't feel good to folks whose livelihood depends on working for them. I was also struck by how easy it is for people to invoke frames like sexual harassment that make me react disfavorably when nuance is everything. I hope Brandy Brooks does find a way to stay in politics and bring her full self to the fight. Now to catch up on Deconstructed. Thanks for the push.
