Last week, Cambridge City Democrats met to debate a resolution put forward by one of its local wards, condemning the state party for "aiding and abetting an attack on a LGBTQ candidate" and calling for the resignation of Gus Bickford, the party’s statewide boss. It was the latest fallout from the coordinated assault on the candidacy last year of Alex Morse, who had challenged Ways and Means chair Richie Neal.

The goal is to maintain the status quo...keeping the establishment in power. Joe Crowley, Lacy Clay, Eliot Engel and Richard Neal are recent examples of this. I can also include Hillary Clinton with the backdoor moves to protect her from Bernie. AOC, Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman were not enthusiastically welcomed when taking the Oath of Office. Hopefully, there will be more to follow including Alex Morse.
