This evening I’m trying out a new feature Substack has rolled out, a subscriber chat. (It’s open to free subscribers, too.)
I’ll be covering the election tonight on the Breaking Points channel. Coverage has already started (here) and I’ll be on a little after 9:30 for the rest of the night, or as long as Emily and the crew and I can go.
At around 8:30, I’ll start the Substack chat, which I want to try out in case Twitter completely melts down in the future and we need a new way to kibbitz. Readers can interact with each other there or ask me questions that I’ll answer either in the chat or on the air.
To join the chat, the bad news is A) you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email) and B) at this point you need an iPhone. They say they’re rolling out an android version soon.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Thank you Ryan!! Appreciate you grounded reasoning
Wait..is THIS chat????
