Here are two contrasting statements by two women supposedly of the same party, but of very different moral fibers, made when voting in the House and the Senate, respectively, on the motion to authorize a military intervention in Iraq. A war that Noel Chomsky has called "a war crime", something I agree with. One based on bare-faced lies at the UN and at home and backed by sheer militaristic propaganda by government officials and assorted politicians in their public statements -- made also while huge demonstrations against it were going on in major cities around the world:

Nancy Pelosi: https://pelosi.house.gov/sites/pelosi.house.gov/files/pressarchives/releases/prIraqResolution100302.htm

Hillary Clinton: https://awpc.cattcenter.iastate.edu/2017/03/09/hillary-clinton-iraq-war-vote-speech-oct-10-2002/

(About a decade later, she said her vote had been a mistake.)

This says all that needs to be said about these two individuals, and is emblematic of much of the political tendencies in the Democratic Party then and, I fear, still now.
